10:31am | A bank in downtown Long Beach was robbed Tuesday, Long Beach police said, and the suspect is still at large.
The robber struck at the Bank of the West located in the 400 block of Long Beach Boulevard just before 1 p.m., police said.
The suspect entered the bank, approached a teller and passed the teller a note demanding money.
After the teller complied, the suspect fled the scene on foot. Police did not reveal how much money the robber was able to get away with.
Despite a thorough search of the neighborhoods surrounding the bank, police were unable to capture the suspect.
Police described the bank robber as a male African-American who is possibly in his 20s.
