A driver was killed and a passenger injured when a vehicle crashed into a tree in Lakewood Monday night.
Los Angeles County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the intersection of East Carson Street and Clubhouse Drive around 7:20 p.m. Monday, according to the Lakewood Sheriff’s Station.
The driver was pronounced dead upon deputies’ arrival, and the passenger was taken to a hospital in unknown condition.
The Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner identified the driver as Joseph McConchie, 46.
It’s unclear what may have caused the crash and officials are conducting an investigation.
