The City of Long Beach announced today the appointment of Elvira Hallinan as Manager of Marine Operations, effective August 23.

Hallinan was selected after a nationwide search and has extensive experience working with marine operations including Marine Maintenance, Marine Safety/Lifeguards and Marine Patrol. She also helped in the $109 million rebuild of the Alamitos Bay Marina.

She previously served as Acting Manager of Marine Operations since September 2013.

“Elvira Hallinan will bring years of experience to the position of Manager of Marine Operations,” said George Chapjian, Director of Long Beach Parks, Recreation and Marine. “She has demonstrated the ability to manage a wide range of responsibilities and develop a team of employees who are responsive to the boating community and their unique needs.”
