3:27pm | A former Long Beach Police Department officer who was arrested in August 2010 for stealing four firearms that were supposed to be booked as property pleaded guilty to charges of embezzlement today, according to the Los Angeles County District Attorney.
Damian Ramos, 33, will be sentenced on April 7. Two of the firearms he took have been recovered while the other two still remain missing. He will likely accept a negotiated settlement with the District Attorney’s Office that will result in one year in county jail and three years of probation.
Another former Long Beach police officer, Derrick Dinsmore, will be arraigned on Monday on charges stemming from the Ramos case.
