Military aircraft will begin arriving at Long Beach Airport tonight and Thursday, and will continue flights through Labor Day as part of Fleet Week festivities, according to Councilman Daryl Supernaw’s office.

One military transport aircraft, a C-27J, is expected to arrive at LGB Wednesday night. Four F/A-18 aircrafts, which are significantly louder than normal planes, will arrive on Thursday.

The military plans will participate in Fleet Week with law enforcement, fire and the U.S. Coast Guard near the Port of Los Angeles.

Supernaw said his office expects the aircraft to depart on Tuesday, Sept. 3, “but all times are tentative and subject to change.”
