The Red Cross is currently assisting a Long Beach family of ten that was displaced from their mobile home Sunday when it became engulfed in flames.

According to the Long Beach Fire Department, firefighters responded to the Windward Village Mobile Home Park in the 3500 block of Santa Fe Avenue at around 10:30AM and discovered a home fully involved with fire. Firefighters were able to put out the blaze and prevent it from spreading to neighboring homes, however, the damage is estimated to be over $50,000.

Seven adults and three children lived at the residence and all ten were being housed by the Red Cross. An adult and his children who were home at the time of the fire were able to escape the blaze prior to the arrival of firefighters.

The fire was started in a clothes dryer, which quickly spread to the remainder of the structure.
