Glass Booth

Political website glass booth is one of my new favorite sites on the web.  It not only connects you to the 2008 presidential candidate that represents your beliefs the best, it provides you with non-partisan, non-biased and detailed background on each of the candidates in this year’s presidential contest.  This innovative site offers rich history, including past votes, video clips and speech excerpts on each of the candidates and where they stand on issues ranging from immigration to gay rights.

An easy to navigate quiz on the issues shows you the top three candidates that most agree with your position on the issues presented.   Scientific?  No, but it’s entertaining!

Find your candidate at this weeks 5.

The Tata Nano Nightmare!?

It is 3 meters long, seats four comfortably or five at a squeeze, does 65mph and aims to revolutionize travel for millions. The “People’s Car” is also the cheapest in the world at 100,000 rupees ($2,500) – the same price as the DVD player in a Lexus.

The Nano, from Tata, the Indian conglomerate bidding for Jaguar and Land Rover, was unveiled at the Delhi Auto Expo yesterday to music from 2001: A Space Odyssey. Ratan Tata, the company chairman, harked back to the first flight by the Wright Brothers and the Moon landing as he revealed the cute, snub-nosed hatchback that will allow millions in India’s emerging middle classes to buy a car for the first time

The Nano, at its most basic, is roughly half the price of the cheapest car available today. China’s QQ3Y Chery and India’s Maruti 800 are both about £2,550. The idea of millions of Nanos on the road alarms environmentalists. Rajendra Pachauri, the chief UN climate scientist, said last month that he was “having nightmares” about it.

Branding Hillary

A Texas advertising guru and branding whiz, who spent most of October on a spiritual soul quest trying to reconnect with “the heart of America,” has been tapped for a bigger role in Sen. Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign.

Roy Spence, 60, a longtime friend of the Clintons, is the quirky Austin-based advertising legend who coined the phrase “Don’t Mess With Texas,” and developed the Southwest Airlines slogan, “You are now free to move about the country.”
