3:00pm | The Long Beach Fire Department Memorial Association will host its annual fireworks show this July 4 as a safe and fun way to celebrate Independence Day.

The fireworks display is just one of many that will be going on this weekend, but the Fire Department show is a highly-regarded event that combines safe and responsible handling of fireworks with a beautiful display.

Tickets are on sale now for $10 (kids are $7) and the show is held at 3559 Clark Avenue near Veterans Stadium. That includes live music, balloon-making clowns and more. Purchase tickets at Fire Station 19 (3559 Clark Ave).

The Fire Department warns against irresponsible handling of fireworks and says in a press release that more fires and fireworks-related injuries occur on July 4 than any other day of the year. They advise to attend professional shows and not set off your own fireworks.

Police will be enforcing laws regarding the possession of all types of fireworks, including sparklers.

Another famous Long Beach fireworks show is held at the Queen Mary but can be seen from miles around, with large crowds huddling along the beach for a picture perfect view.
