No one was injured in an East Long Beach structure fire last night but two occupants were displaced, Long Beach Fire Department (LBFD) officials said today.

The LBFD first received a call about the fire at around 9:42PM and arrived to find an apartment building located at 7890 E. Spring Street on fire, said LBFD spokesman Jake Heflin.

Upon investigation, fire personnel found that the fire had started in the pipe chase in the wall and traveled through the wall up to the roof.

Two apartment units suffered fire damage and one unit suffered minor water damage.

The fire took until 12:36PM to put out, due to complications caused by the fire’s location, Heflin said.

There were no injuries, but two adult occupants were displaced and the American Red Cross responded to assist them with lodging.

Arson Investigators deemed the fire accidental, Heflin said.
