Long Beach Fire Department officials are investigating a garage fire that happened Tuesday night in North Long Beach.

Firefighters were dispatched to the 3000 block of East 64th Street at 7:09PM and arrived on scene at 7:14PM, reporting heavy fire showing from a detached garage in the back of the reported address, according to LBFD spokesman Jake Heflin.

Four residents were at home at the time of the fire, officials said, but no injuries were reported.

Neighbors also unsuccessfully attempted to put out the fire with garden hoses.

Officials said the fire was confined to the garage and was knocked down at 7:20PM.

A total of 21 firefighters were assigned to the incident at the height of the fire.

The cause and origin of the fire remains under investigation.
