The Health, Beauty and Fitness Fair came to Belmont Shore this past Sunday to educate and inspire the greater Long Beach community about their health.  Vendors ranged from salons, to blood sugar screening, and a live band.

Visitors to the shore strolled the multiple tent villages getting free handouts, talking with experts in their respective field and getting inspired to take new steps in healthy living.

I personally had a tent and I found it very rewarding to talk with folks about troubling health conditions and injuries for almost 8 hours!  As well, we provided free Kinesiotaping sessions as seen on Kerri Walsh in the Olympics. Taking part in the health of the community is a very rewarding experience and a big thanks goes out to the Belmont Shore Business Association for putting together such a great event.

Interview with Brooke Kenard of the BSBA;

What was your motivation for hosting the Health, Beauty and Fitness Fair?

This is actually my third with the BSBA.  This is an event the association has had for many years.  It used to just be the health fair, and our partner St. Mary’s Medical Center has partnered with us for many years doing health screenings.   In the last several years we’ve branched out to include many aspects to living a full life.

What does health mean to you?

Living a full life and being able to do everything physically you’d like to do.  It involves the health of the body and also the mind.
