After hosting ten events in its three months of existence, the cargo containers-turned-art-museum Goods Gallery will no longer be using its designated space downtown and its owners are offering the gallery to any Los Angeles area school or non-profit agency free of charge.  The Goods Gallery recently hosted the benefit concert Say Yes, which the lbpost.com reviewed here.

If no non-profit organization or school comes forward, the containers will be auctioned off.  Listings are currently live on both Ebay and CraigsList.  As a last resort, they’ll be recycled.

“We hope non-profits, schools and City agencies will respond,” said Ryan Smolar, founder of SmolarCorp, which organized and owned the project. “The Goods Gallery can fit in any neighborhood and offers a sustainable, affordable, reversible alternative – in a down economy – for art and performance space.”
