The fourth annual Grand Prix Foundation “Run The Course” 5K will return to the race course this Sunday, April 3.
Entry fees for the race will benefit Long Beach area charities including the Long Beach Special Olympics, Ronald McDonald House, Century Club, Short Stop and Operation Jump Start, according to the announcement.
Runners will take a two-lap tour of the Acura Grand Prix of Long Beach racetrack, starting on Shoreline Drive and heading up Pine Avenue and Seaside Way, then returning to Shoreline Drive for the finish.
Kids 12 and under can participate in the Kid’s Turbo 1K, and skilled runners have the option to run in the Elite/Pro 5K for those who can finish the race in under 25 minutes.
Every registered participant will also be entered in a drawing to win a ride in an official Acura NSX pace car around the Grand Prix racetrack during race weekend. The 2022 Acura Grand Prix of Long Beach will take place April 8-10.
“We are proud to have G&M support the Grand Prix Foundation 5K event,” Foundation President Rick Duree said in a statement. “The 5K continues to grow in popularity, and G&M’s contribution as the event’s title sponsor will help us contribute more resources to local charities.”
Registration is open now through Sunday at this link.
