Local drivers should take note that beginning today, several road closures–including alleyways and bikepaths–will occur due to the Grand Prix of Long Beach running through the weekend.
Bus travelers should also note that Routes 61, 71 and 72 will NOT travel along Ocean, but through 1st Street straight into the Transit Mall. For those boarding a bus along Ocean, Route 121 will operate as your traveling choice. On Friday, the Passport will only serve those going to the Aquarium and the Queen Mary. There will be no stops south of Ocean until the bus arrives at the Queen Mary; from the Queen Mary there will be no stops until Pacific at Ocean Blvd. The Passport during this time, from 3rd Street heading south, will divert from Pine to Pacific.
Beginning today at 3PM and ending at 5PM this upcoming Monday, the following roads will be closed:
- Golden Shore 710 on-ramp to Shoreline Drive eastbound
- Shoreline Drive eastbound from 710/Broadway off-ramp to Ocean and Alamitos Boulevard
- Shoreline Village Drive from Marina Parking Lot to Shoreline Drive
Beginning today at 5PM and ending at 5PM this upcoming Monday, the following roads will be closed:
- Atlantic Way from Ocean to Seaside Way
- Bay Street at Pine Avenue
- Cedar Avenue at Shoreline Drive
- Linden Avenue from Ocean to Seaside Way
- Linden Avenue from Shoreline to Marina Parking Lot
- Locust Avenue from Ocean to Seaside Way
- Marine Way from Locust to Collins Way
- Marine Way from Hart Place to eastern end
- Seaside Way from Pine Avenue to Shoreline Drive
Beginning today at 7PM and ending at 5PM this upcoming Monday, the following roads will be closed:
- Aquarium Way from Shoreline to Chestnut Place
- Cedar Avenue at Shoreline Drive
- Chestnut Avenue from Seaside to Queensway Bridge
- Shoreline Drive westbound from Ocean to Alamitos Boulevard
Beginning Friday at 6PM and ending at 7PM this upcoming Sunday, the following roads will be closed:
- Pine Avenue from Ocean to Upper Esplanade
- Promenade South from Seaside to Shoreline Drive Terminus
- The walkway off of Seaside Way from Hart Place onward
Beginning Friday at 7AM and ending at midnight this upcoming Monday, the following bike path will be closed:
- The path beginning at Seaside and Chestnut Avenue eastward behind the Villa Riviera
