Police are investigating a shooting that left one man injured Wednesday morning near Central Long Beach.
Police said the man was shot in the 500 block of West 9th Street around 5:15 a.m. According to police reports, the man told officers he was inside of a residence when he heard a gunshot and then realized that he had been struck by gunfire.
The Long Beach Fire Department transported the victim to a local hospital with a wound that wasn’t life-threatening, police said.
The victim is not cooperating with the investigation, police said, and no suspect information was provided. No evidence of a crime scene was located in the area and the motive for the shooting is currently unknown, according to police.
