The Long Beach Department of Health and Human Services (LBDHHS) Healthy Active Long Beach Program, in partnership with the Junior League Long Beach (JLLB), will host the 10th Annual Kids in the Kitchen event this weekend, aimed at providing free skill-building activities to promote healthy lifestyles and decrease the risk for obesity and related chronic diseases.
This year, it will have a theme of “Fuel Up with Fruits and Veggies!” and attendees can sample healthy recipes, play educational games and visit interactive resource booths, according to a statement from the City.
“This important event highlights the success of community partnerships and provides an opportunity for residents to come together, have fun, and improve their health,” said Mayor Robert Garcia in a statement. “I want to thank the Health Department and all the community partners who make this event possible each year.”
The free event will take place on Saturday from 10:00AM to 2:00PM at Martin Luther King, Jr. Park, located at 1950 Lemon Avenue.
