Four people were arrested over the holiday weekend for driving under the influence in Long Beach.

Long Beach Police Department Traffic Section officers conducted a DUI saturation patrol throughout Long Beach from 7PM to 3AM.

During the operation, the officers conducted 94 enforcement stops and 19 sobriety checks, which netted four DUI arrests, police said in a statement. One additional person was arrested for an outstanding warrant.

Police also issued three misdemeanor citations to unlicensed drivers, one misdemeanor citation to a driver with a suspended license and 23 citations to drivers for unsafe driving.

Funding for the saturation patrol program is provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Administration.
