A man was struck by a vehicle and critically injured Thursday night in Long Beach, according to authorities.

Officers responded to the crash, located at the intersection of Anaheim Street and Cedar Avenue, at 7:36PM, according to Long Beach Police Department (LBPD) spokeswoman Marlene Arrona.

Long Beach Fire Department (LBFD) personnel transported the pedestrian in critical condition to a local hospital. Police described the victim as a transient.

The driver remained at the scene.
