A woman believed to be homeless gave birth at Lincoln Park in downtown Long Beach Wednesday morning.

At 8:30AM Wednesday, August 5, Long Beach police officers were dispatched to the park to assist paramedics with a woman who delivered the baby, Long Beach Police Department (LBPD) spokeswoman Marlene Arrona said.

The Long Beach Fire Department transported the suspected homeless mother and child to a local hospital, authorities said.

Lincoln Park is well known as a gathering place for the homeless.
