Jennifer Moore
Acting as the Development Manager for the Long Beach Ronald McDonald House at age 27, Jen has altered the House since she first applied to the position, garnering successful fundraising and community outreach efforts, directly altering the lives of the families who need the support of the House. Though she majored in journalism at Long Beach State, her emphasis in public relations and her minor in communications became her driving forces after graduation, where she began working the Memorial Medical Center Foundation which supports Long Beach Memorial and Miller Children’s Hospital.
Her love for Long Beach is a deep one, the places she has lived throughout the city spanning everywhere from CSULB to downtown to Belmont Heights. “I was excited to join [the Ronald McDonald House which] was paving the future for not just the House, but Long Beach as a whole. Having this type of organization available to families whose child is critically ill is more than words can say. Every day I get to see families who are going through the hardest time in their lives, dealing with a sick child, and knowing that the organization I work for helps them during this battle. From working at the hospital to working at the LBRMH helped me fall in love with the city even more. The outpouring of support and kindness from this city is unbelievable and it makes me grateful to live here.”
Jen currently lives in Seal Beach and also volunteers at The Painted Turtle Camp, a camp for kids with disabilities. In addition to snowboarding, she runs the Long Beach ½ marathon each year in her attempts to eventually get to a full marathon.
