UPDATE | Long Beach police have arrested two more family members of a murder suspect on suspicion of helping him avoid arrest, they announced on Tuesday.

Detectives said they found evidence that the brother of John Osborne, Joshua Osborne, and Joshua’s wife Yesenia Cisneros had knowledge of his involvement in the murder of 46-year-old Nancy Romero.

They previously arrested Osborne’s mother and her boyfriend on Jan. 23.

Both Joshua Osborne, 30, and Cisneros, 31, were arrested on suspicion of accessory after the fact and are being held on a $1 million bail, police said.

“Both suspects provided aid to John Osborne with the intent of avoiding arrest, trial, conviction or punishment,” police said.

1/24/20 at 1:26 p.m. | Long Beach police say the mother of a murder suspect and a man she was dating tried to help her son escape punishment for killing a woman last year.

Officers arrested 50 year-old Pamela Osborne and 49 year-old David Miller on Thursday and held them on $1 million bail each, according to authorities. They were taken into custody without incident on suspicion of being an accessory to murder after the fact, police said.

Pamela Osborne is the mother of John Osborne, who is accused of shooting a woman he was dating and leaving her on the sidewalk in Downtown Long Beach.

Nancy Romero, 46, was found shot in the back on Magnolia Avenue near Third Street, about a block from John Osborne’s home, on the morning of July 11.

John Osborne turned himself in at the LBPD’s Downtown headquarters on July 14. Before that happened, however, his mother and Miller both knew about the killing and “provided aid to John Osborne with the intent he would avoid arrest, trial, conviction or punishment,” police said in a statement.

An LBPD spokeswoman declined to reveal exactly what the alleged aid was.

John Osborne and Romero had been dating before her death, but prosecutors said it didn’t appear they were in a long-term relationship. The pair’s roommates had seen them arguing on July 10, and security camera video shows them together shortly before the shooting, Deputy District Attorney Kelly Kelley said

Police called the slaying an “isolated incident of domestic violence.”

John Osborne has pleaded not guilty to one count of murder, and he’s being held on $3 million bail, records show.
