Two robbery suspects led Los Angeles County Sheriff’s deputies on a chase from Lakewood into North Long Beach before they were captured Monday night, according to authorities.

Information on exactly where the chase began wasn’t immediately available, but sheriff’s officials said the pursuit started after a deputy spotted the suspects around 7 p.m. after they’d robbed a CVS drugstore in Lakewood.

The pursuit ended near Atlantic Avenue and 68th Street, which is near where the 710 and 91 freeways meet in Long Beach, authorities said.

Long Beach police helped surround the area, and the sheriff’s department called in K-9 and SWAT teams, but “patrol deputies were able to take the suspects into custody prior to their arrival,” a sheriff’s official said.
