Previously, Lillian Kawasaki has served as the General Manager of the Los Angeles Community Development Department, where she oversaw job training and workforce development programs dedicated to economic and community revitalization. She was also head of the Port of Los Angeles’s Environmental Management Division, proactively greening port growth and development.

Among those supporting Lillian’s city council campaign are Mary Stanton, a Board Member for the Long Beach Board of Education, and Don Knabe of the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors. “From working closely with Lillian, I know that she has the commitment, knowledge, and experience to best serve our community,” said Stanton. “We can count on her to support our local schools and libraries and to fight to preserve our natural resources.”

“During these tough economic times, we need leaders like Lillian Kawasaki who will support local businesses, expand job opportunities, and encourage economic growth,” said Don Knabe. “I know the integrity and passion she will bring to the council[.]”
