8:30am | The Belmont Plaza Pool has officially re-opened to the public as of 5:30am today after being closed for several weeks for maintenance and repairs.

“The Belmont Plaza Pool is going to reopen with a splash. I invite the community to attend our Open House on Monday and take advantage of the improvements,” said 3rd District Councilmember Gary DeLong.

The Department of Parks, Recreation and Marine took advantage of the pool’s annual September maintenance closure to replace pipes, pour new concrete around the pipes, and replace or clean the pool tiles. The contractor worked seven days per week, 12 hours a day, to have all repairs completed by November 14. The project was funded by Los Angeles County funds dedicated to the Belmont Plaza Pool.

To celebrate the re-opening, Parks, Recreation and Marine will hold an Open House with extended hours on Monday, November 14.  The pool will be open from 5:30am-2pm and from 4:00pm-7:00pm, with water exercise classes at 6:30am, 8:00am, and 6:00pm. Regular pool hours are available at www.lbparks.org.
