Long Beach Fire Department rescued an injured person from an apartment fire at 4244 E. Fifth St. in Belmont Heights, Saturday afternoon.
Department spokesman Brian Fisk said the patient was treated and transported with minor injuries to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.
Long Beach Fire Department units rolled up at 4:22 p.m. to find “heavy fire and smoke coming from the first floor,” Fisk said.
Still, firefighters were able knock down the fire in nine minutes.
