Assemblymember Warren T. Furutani, who represents portions of Long Beach, Lakewood, Caron and the Los Angeles communities of Wilmington, Harbor City and Harbor Gateway, will be sworn into office in a district swearing-in ceremony Sunday, March 16th, in the Palm Courtyard on the campus of California State University Dominguez Hills.

“I’m excited to bring together community leaders and elected officials from every city in the District” said Furutani. “Sunday’s program will highlight the diversity of our district.”

The oath of office will be administered by Assemblymember Furutani’s long-time friend and highly respected Congressman, Mike Honda.  State Assembly Speaker-Elect Karen Bass will be among the elected officials and community leaders welcoming Furutani to the State Legislature.

Furutani is currently serving on the Assembly Appropriation, Transportation, Utilities & Commerce and Parks & Water and Wildlife Committees, and is the Chair of the Select Committee on Career Technical Education and Workforce Development.
