With funds were raised from the Wrigley River Run & Tadpole Trot presented by Buono’s and Toyota, the Long Beach Neighborhood Foundation (LBNF) donated $1,000 to the scholarship fund at Holy Innocents School to support the education of the Cabrera and Castro families.

Last week, Gavin McKiernan, the President of the Long Beach Neighborhood Foundation’s board of directors, presented the $1,000 check to Sister Madeleine of Holy Innocents as well as the families.

Gavin said “with the help of sponsors like Toyota and Buono’s we have been able to put on a first class event while keeping it affordable for families and still raising money for many deserving students and programs throughout the city. This is one of many checks that I have had the privilege of handing out this past year. Those who come out to our event will support our efforts and get to see why our event continues to grow year after year.”

The Long Beach Neighborhood Foundation is a 501(c)3 not for profit organization committed to organizing and sponsoring athletic events and programs in Long Beach to promote community involvement, education, tolerance, and a healthy non-violent lifestyle.
