Long Beach was far from the hardest hit by the storm that drenched Southern California today, but we did get some steady rain, amounting to .86 of an inch by midday.

No major flooding was reported, but there were downed tree branches, sandbags to keep runoff at bay and swollen rivers sending trash and bacteria to our shoreline.

Forecasters say a chance of light rain will linger until this evening, when skies are expected to begin clearing up.
