Long Beach man arrested for DUI after crashing into Red Car Greenbelt sign, police say

A Long Beach man was arrested Sunday morning on suspicion of driving under the influence after crashing his vehicle into a road sign near Colorado Lagoon, police said.

At about 6:58 a.m. Sunday, Long Beach Police officers responded to the area of Fourth Street and Park Avenue regarding a reported traffic collision. There, officers located a vehicle that had collided with the Red Car Greenbelt sign and was resting near a sidewalk, on a bushy area, according to authorities.

The driver, Jose Prieto-Gudino, 20, was arrested at the scene and booked on one count of DUI, one count of driving without a license and one count of driving without registration. Bail was set at $15,000, according to the LBPD.

There were no injuries reported, and the investigation is ongoing, police said.
