3:42pm | Recently, the local community lent a hand to the Long Beach Police Department, and vice versa.

Long Beach business Laserfiche, a document and records management firm, presented a check for $5,000 to the Long Beach Police Foundation, an independent non-profit organization that encourages involvement between public safety and the local business community. Support to the LBPF enhances programs and services of the LBPD.

“We are very appreciative of Laserfiche’s generous donation to the LBPF and thank this community leader in recognizing the importance of our foundation and its support of the Long Beach Police Department,” said Kathy Berry, LBPF executive director.

A few weeks earlier, the department reinvested into local businesses when patrol officers needed new bicycles. The LBPF turned to Jones Bicycles, a 100-year old community stalwart located on 2nd Street in Belmont Shore. The bikes will go to officers in the East Division.
