With Fourth of July around the corner, the Long Beach Police Department is advising residents to stay safe.
All fireworks, including those labeled as “safe and sane,” are illegal in Long Beach, police remind residents in a statement.
The LBPD and Long Beach Fire Department will patrol the streets of Long Beach on the days leading up to the holiday to ensure compliance of the Long Beach City Ordinance. Those not found in compliance could be faced with a $1,000 fine, a jail sentence of six months or both.
Fireworks may be voluntarily disposed of at collection bins located at Lifeguard Headquarters at 2100 E. Ocean Blvd., and at all police staions.
All laws, especially those associated with drinking in public, public intoxication, drunk driving, underage drinking and illegal barbecues, will be enforced, police said.
