Detectives are investigating two separate shootings that took place Saturday night, one of which left a man with a non-life-threatening injury, according to the Long Beach Police Department.

Just before 8 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 900 block of Lime Avenue near St. Mary Medical Center after reports of a shooting. Upon arrival, police found a man who had been shot on his lower body.

The Long Beach Fire Department transported the man to the hospital with non-life-threatening injury, according to LBPD. Responding officers could not locate a crime scene, according to preliminary information.

Less than 30 minutes later, police were dispatched to the 1000 block of South Street between Orange and Atlantic avenues. Officers located bullet casings at the scene, the department stated.

Through their preliminary investigation, officers learned that a man entered a business and fired his gun toward the victim, who was not hit. No other injuries were reported.

Detectives’ investigations into both incidents remain ongoing.
