A 28-year-old Canadian Navy service member who went missing early Monday morning in Downtown Long Beach has been found safe and reported back to his ship, according to authorities.

Frederik Gagnon was in Los Angeles for the third annual LA Fleet Week event held at the LA Waterfront in San Pedro, and he disappeared around 2 a.m. Monday from Broadway and Pine Avenue after “visiting establishments in the Entertainment District,” police said.

After asking for help finding him Monday, police said Tuesday that Gagnon had returned to his ship.

9/3/18 at 2:38 p.m. | Authorities are searching for a 28-year-old Canadian Navy service member who went missing early this morning in Downtown Long Beach.

Frederik Gagnon was last seen near Broadway and Pine Avenue at 2 a.m. Monday, Sept. 3, according to Long Beach police Sgt. James Richardson.

He was last seen wearing an all-white naval uniform.

Officials did not provide additional information about Gagnon or who reported him missing.

Sailors from the Royal Canadian Navy were scheduled to be in Southern California this past week for the third annual LA Fleet Week event held at the LA Waterfront in San Pedro. However, it is unclear if Gagnon was a part of that.
