Allstate Insurance company has released its 15th annual list of cities with the safest drivers in America —and they aren’t in Long Beach.

The city this year ranked near bottom on the list, coming in at 171 out of 200 cities in the country. Allstate releases its America’s Best Drivers Report each year ahead of July 4, one of the deadliest days for traffic accidents. The company ranks cities by collision frequency based on Allstate’s insurance claims.

Overall, the study found that Long Beach residents average 7.3 years between collision claims. The national average is 10.57 years.

Los Angeles ranked 195, while Glendale was ranked the worst in California at 196.

Baltimore came in at 200 for the city with the worst drivers with an average 4.2 years between claims.

Brownsville, Texas had the safest drivers, followed by Boise, Idaho and Huntsville, Alabama. For the third year in a row, Oxnard was rated as the top city in California ranking at 55.

For the first time this year, Allstate also identified the “riskiest roads” with the highest number of collisions. Glendale’s 134 Freeway was ranked the worst in California ranked at 196, tailgated by the 405 Freeway at 195.

“The goal of the America’s Best Drivers Report is to make our roads safer and ultimately save lives,” Ken Rosen, Allstate’s chief claims officer said in a statement. “Each of us needs to ask how we can do our part in our day-to-day lives and for our communities. And beyond that, this country needs to come together to address pressing safety issues, such as rebuilding our roadway infrastructure to reduce risky conditions on America’s roads.”
