Habitat for Humanity of Greater Los Angeles announced Long Beach Mayor Robert Garcia has been selected as co-chair of the organization’s Builders Ball, along with Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti on Wednesday, October 14 from 6:00 to 9:00PM at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel.
The event commemorates the organization’s 25th anniversary, according to a release, honoring the likes of Magic Johnson, Sen. Barbara Boxer, Rep. Alan Lowenthal and businesses such as Bank of America.
The release states that funds raised from the ball will go toward a $100 million investment in communities throughout Los Angeles County. Event highlights include a dinner and performance by Jeffrey Osborne, singer of songs such as “On the Wings of Love” and “Stay with me Tonight.”
