A Long Beach woman with a domestic violence restraining order was arrested Tuesday after taking her daughter by force from the child’s father, police said.

Long Beach Police Department officers responded to the 1500 block of Washington Place in regards to a possible child abduction at about 4:30 p.m., said LBPD spokeswoman Megan Zabel.

Arriving officers met with the child’s father, who told them that his two-year-old daughter had been taken by force by her biological mother earlier that day.

The father said he had a domestic violence restraining order against the mother, identified as Ana Alvarez, 29, of Long Beach. Alvarez was also not allowed to have contact with her daughter, according to the Department of Child and Family Services.

Officers in a LBPD Fox helicopter were able to locate Alvarez and her daughter in a vehicle leaving Long Beach on the 405 Freeway.

Alvarez was arrested and the child was returned to the father unharmed, Zabel said.
