Feeling a bit behind when it comes to technology? Confused with all this talk about FaceSpace and TwitTube?  Boy, does the Long Beach Nonprofit Partnership have something for you.

The organization will be hosting a social media conference on the campus of CSULB next week, officially called Meeting Your Mission Through New Technologies: Strategic Thinking on Social Media and Nonprofits.  This basically equates to, how to use the internet to help your organization.

Topics will include harnessing the power of the internet and social media in your organization’s best interest. What strategies are most successful? Is it cost-effective? How many employees should be put on the task?  Bring your laptop, because seminars are hands-on and you’ll be learning on the fly (it’s ok if you don’t bring one, there are group sessions as well).

An array of social networking experts and authors will lead the day’s workshops, which deal with the benefits of tools like Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and more.

The conference is aimed at local non-profits and similar organizations, but is open to anyone.  The full-day event will be held on November 10 from 9:00am-3:00pm in the brand new Pyramid Annex on campus. Tickets run $75 for members of the LBNP and $125 for non-members. Visit lbnp.org to find more information or reserve your space. The conference room can only hold so many attendees, so hurry and get connected now!
