A man was arrested Sunday after allegedly threatening passengers aboard a JetBlue flight from Long Beach (LGB) to San Francisco (SFO), repeatedly screaming that the plane was going to go down.

According to ABC News, a passenger informed a flight attendant that a man had repeatedly made threatening comments that included the plane was bound for destruction. Footage of the incident was captured via smartphone by passenger Patrick Alexander, who said the suspect kept muttering “this plane is going to go down, this plane is going to be destroyed.”

Flight crew then immediately contacted SFO, where police authorities awaited the plane’s arrival.

After safely arriving at SFO, SFO spokesperson Nancie Parker confirmed in a press release that officers boarded and searched the plane, including the suspect’s luggage, and found no posing threat.

Following detainment, the suspect was booked into San Mateo County jail where he remains; authorities have not stated if the suspect has been formally charged with a crime.
