A man was arrested following a reported stabbing Sunday afternoon in Bixby Park, police said.
Officers arrived in the area of Lindero Avenue and Ocean Boulevard around 3:08 p.m. and found a man suffering from stab wounds to his upper body, according to the Long Beach Police Department.
The victim was in the area when he got into a verbal dispute with another man, which then escalated to a stabbing, police said.
During their investigation, officers located the suspect in the nearby area, arrested him and seized a knife, according to the LBPD.
The victim was transported to a local area trauma center, according to a Long Beach Fire Department spokesperson. His wounds are considered non-life-threatening, according to police.
The identity of the victim and the suspect were not released by police.
The investigation is ongoing, police said.
