A man was shot while seated in a vehicle early this morning in North Long Beach, authorities said.
The vehicle was in the area of Long Beach Boulevard and 68th Street at about 2:30 a.m., when a suspect in a dark-colored sedan exited that vehicle and fired a shot striking the victim and his vehicle, the Long Beach Police Department reported.
“The victim recognized he had been struck by gunfire and transported himself to the hospital,” police said.
The victim suffered a wound to the lower body and was expected to survive. Officers sent to the scene of the shooting collected bullet casings, police said.
