Police were notified of the stabbing around 12:20 a.m. and responded to the 100 block of West Artesia Boulevard, which is just west of Long Beach Boulevard.

Authorities arrived and found the man suffering from a stab wound to the upper body and transported him to a local hospital for treatment, according to the Long Beach Police Department. He is expected to survive, police said.

The victim, according to police, was being robbed by another man when it escalated into an argument and then a fight. That’s when the suspect stabbed the victim and fled the scene in a white vehicle that had a woman inside, police said.

Nothing was taken from the victim, police said, and he does not appear to know the suspect. The investigation is ongoing, according to the LBPD.
