Police say they’re investigating a shooting early Tuesday morning in Downtown Long Beach that left one man injured.
Officers were notified of the shooting around 3 a.m. and responded to the 200 block of West Broadway, according to the Long Beach Police Department.
The injured man told police he was in a parked vehicle in the area when the suspect, described by police as a man, approached him, the LBPD said. After an argument started between the two, the victim exited the vehicle and the suspect shot him in the upper body, police said.
Long Beach Fire Department personnel arrived at the scene and transported the man to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, police said. No other injuries were reported.
Officers responded to the area where the wounded man said he had been shot, but they were unable to locate a crime scene, authorities said.
At this time, no suspect information is available and the motive for the shooting is unknown, according to police.
