Police say they arrested a woman who stabbed a man and left him in critical condition following an argument at a home in Long Beach’s Wrigley neighborhood Tuesday night.

The victim was visiting the 26-year-old woman at her residence in the 5000 block of Daisy Avenue when they got into an argument and she stabbed him, the LBPD said.

Officers were notified of the stabbing sometime around 8:50 p.m. and responded to the home where they found the man suffering from stab wounds to the upper body, police said.

There, the man told police what had happened, and officers arrested the woman, who was still at the scene, police said.

The man was then transported by Long Beach Fire Department personnel to a local hospital in critical but stable condition, police said, adding that the woman was also taken to the hospital for non-life-threatening injuries sustained during the altercation.

The woman was taken into custody on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon, according to the Long Beach Police Department. Her bail was set at $30,000, authorities said.

The investigation is ongoing, police said.
