Man injured in shooting Downtown, police say
Long Beach police are investigating a shooting that left a man injured Sunday morning.
Officers were dispatched to the 500 block of Queensway Drive regarding a shots call at approximately 3:57 a.m. Sunday, according to police.
Upon arrival, officers found a man with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to the lower body, LBPD said.
Long Beach Fire Department personnel arrived on scene and transported the victim to a local hospital.
The preliminary investigation suggests the victim was walking in the area when he threw a brick at a parked RV, breaking a window, LBPD said. A male adult occupant was inside the RV, and subsequently discharged a firearm toward the broken window, striking the victim.
Officers located the RV occupant and detained him at the scene, police said.
The investigation is ongoing.
