Man injured in shooting in El Dorado Park Estates, police say
A man was injured in a shooting in El Dorado Park Estates Sunday morning, police said
The shooting occurred around 5 a.m. in the area of the 8100 block of East Wardlow Road, according to the Long Beach police department.
When officers arrived at the scene, they located a man suffering a gunshot wound to the lower body, police said. The man told police he was homeless and stated that he was inside his tent when an unknown male suspect approached his tent. Both parties then entered into a verbal dispute that escalated to the shooting, according to the LBPD.
The suspect fled the scene prior to the officers’ arrival, according to police.
The Long Beach Fire Department also responded to the scene and transported the victim to a local hospital to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries, according to the LBPD.
