A man was struck and killed trying to run across the southbound 605 Freeway in Cerritos today.
The fatal crash near South Street was reported at 6:17 p.m., said California Highway Patrol Officer Stephan Brandt.
The man died at the scene, Brandt said. His name was withheld pending notification of next of kin.
The CHP closed the southbound 2, 3, 4 and 5 lanes for the investigation, Brandt said.
It was not known why the man was running across the freeway.
