Man shot, injured, in Washington neighborhood

Police responded to a shooting in the Washington neighborhood in Central Long Beach on Saturday night, authorities said.

Officers arrived at around 11:15 p.m. to Pacific Avenue near 17th Street where they found a man with a gunshot wound to his upper body, authorities said. The man was then transported to a local hospital with a non-life threatening gunshot wound, authorities said.

Police said the reason for the shooting is currently unknown, and no suspect description is available at this time. The investigation is ongoing, authorities said.
