A man was hospitalized Tuesday night after being stabbed during a robbery near St. Mary Medical Center, authorities said.

Officers responded to a local hospital around 11:11 p.m. after a man arrived there with multiple stab wounds to the upper body, according to the Long Beach Police Department.

At the hospital, the man told officers that two unknown male suspects approached him in the 1000 block of Mars Court and demanded his belongings, police said. During this interaction, one of the suspects stabbed the man, police said.

The suspects then fled on foot in an unknown direction with some of the victim’s clothing, police said.

The man, meanwhile, was able to get himself to the hospital for treatment, police said, adding that his injuries were not life-threatening.
