Authorities talked a man out of jumping off a freeway overpass in Long Beach overnight, officials said.

The man was sitting on a ledge of the San Diego (405) Freeway at Atlantic Avenue. Long Beach police were notified by California Highway Patrol (CHP) officers of the potential jumper just after 12:00AM on Thursday, July 14.

The incident caused officials to temporarily close Atlantic Avenue between East Spring Street and East Wardlow Road.
