The Mark Twain Neighborhood Library in Long Beach’s Cambodia Town was closed Tuesday due to “unexpected building maintenance,” city officials said.

The automatic main front doors of the building have been malfunctioning since last week and are in need of repair, Cathy De Leon, director of Long Beach Library Services, told the Post.

The library could reopen tomorrow, the following day or as soon as a repair can be made, De Leon said.

“It’s just not safe for people to be in there right now,” she said.

The doors underwent repairs last week after malfunctioning similarly, but the repair did not hold, De Leon said.

“So, we closed out of an abundance of caution to make sure that patrons are as safe as possible,” De Leon said. “It’s an automatic door so we don’t want anyone getting hurt.”

The Mark Twain Neighborhood Library offers public computers, wireless printing, a Khmer collection, community services and more.
